Hmm...it strikes me more as a "desert survival" SQ...

Sis’thik have thick, leathery light tan skin that lets them blend in with the arid terrain. Their nostrils can seal out dust, and transparent eye screens allow them to see in sandstorms.

They have self-sealing nostrils and transparent membranous eye screens which allow them to function in the fiercest of sand storms. Their skin is thick and leathery, reducing water loss to a minimum, and giving them Armour Class 5 without a shield (AC 4 with a shield). A sis’thik can travel long distances, and even fight in the midday sun, with a daily water intake of less than a quarter of the amount a human would need.

"Desert Adaptation" (Ex): When caught in a sandstorm, a sis’thik suffers no reduction in vision and is not susceptible to choking. A sis’thik can go without water for 1 day plus a number of hours equal to its Constitution score. After this time, the sis’thik must make a Constitution check every 6 hours (DC 10, +1 for each previous check) or take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage.

...or...

"Desert Adaptation" (Ex): When caught in a sandstorm, a sis’thik suffers no reduction in vision and is not susceptible to choking. A sis’thik can go without water for 1 day plus a number of hours equal to 4 x its Constitution score. After this time, the sis’thik must make a Constitution check each hour (DC 10, +1 for each previous check) or take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage.

The Eye Membranes should also offer protection against blinding "dust in the eyes" attacks, and theoretically ought to protect against bright lights.

Rather than specifying a time and DC I'd prefer to use a comparison to a "standard humanoid".

How's this...

Desert Adaptations (Ex): A sis'thik can cover its eyes with nictating membranes and has natural dust-filters in its throat and nostrils, giving it immunity to blinding or chocking caused by windblown particles. Thus, a sis'thik caught in a sandstorm suffers no reduction in vision and will not choke, and it is immune to dazzling attacks and dust of sneezing and choking. Sis'thik suffer no harm from being in temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and their fire resistance gives them formidable resistance to environments of a more extreme temperature. A sis'thik requires one-fourth the water intake of a normal humanoid of its size. If it has no water, it suffers from thirst at one-quarter the rate of a normal humanoid (e.g. 4 days without water is equivalent to 1 day without water for a normal humanoid). Sis'thiks have a +4 bonus on Fortitude checks against dehydration and heat-based effects.

We could probably tidy it up a bit, but I think that covers all of the physiological protections I fancy.

I can go along with this.

They get a whopping six ranks. ;)

Balance 3, Jump 3?

I don't think they need that much Balance, since they get a racial bonus.

I'd like at least a rank in Survival (to help them live in harsh deserts) and Ride (since it mentions they use xytars as mounts).

Which reminds me, we'd better convert the Xytar too.
