For those of us who invested a lot of money into Pathfinder, what are your suggestions for converting Pathfinder into the current Play-Test rules of 5th Edition?
Currently, this is what I am doing.
Starting with the ability stats. If any ability is above 30, I change it to 30. For example, Int 38 becomes Int 30.
Then I look at the Hit Dice. (20HD; 10D...) I max that to 200 and halve it to 100hp. Then I roll 20d10, if the number is higher than 100, I use that higher number for the hp. For example, I rolled 123hp. Then I take the constitution modifier as it currently is and multiply that by 20 and divide by 2. This constitution is 30(+10), 20x10=200/2=100 total HP is 223hp.
AC, if the AC is above 20, it becomes AC20, otherwise, I keep it the same. This is AC48, which becomes AC20.
Initiative becomes the same as the dexterity modifier + any initiative related feat bonuses.
Damage modifiers are just taken from the ability modifier.
Damage is reduced to 1d.
DC just becomes DC 8 plus the magic ability modifier plus a proficiency bonus. This monster has 20 HD so I just take the proficiency bonus from the Mage class table and add that.
Damage Resistance becomes half damage instead of -10.
Skills?
Suggestions? How can I improve this conversion method?
