Converting Planescape monsters

I'm hoping you meant 10-21 HD (Gargantuan); 22-27 (Colossal). If so, I agree. If not, let's do battle!

Added to Homebrews.

I'd meet you halfway with 10-13 HD (Huge); 14-21 HD (Gargantuan); 22-27 (Colossal).

Thoughts on the poison suggestion upthread?

Well the venom is only an ingredient in the truth potion, it could be just as lethal as regular wyvern venom and cause disorientation/delirium.

Maybe add Wisdom damage?

Poison (Ex): Injury, Fortitude DC 20, initial and secondary damage 2d6 Con and 2d6 Wis. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Improved Critical (bite) or Improved Multiattack for its extra feat?

Round One: FIGHT!

Actually, I can live with that, but what's the justification for a larger wyvern advancing in size at a slower rate?

That's definitely a simpler solution. What do you think, freyar?

Both sound good. Maybe make one a bonus feat, or replace Alertness (since it doesn't hunt)?

I was thinking they would be a little tougher than a standard wyvern of the same size.

Casts confound shadesight, confound trueseeing and nondetection. Casts disguise self to appear as freyar.

"I think it's a fine idea. You should agree with Cleon, like always."

:p

Swapping Alertness is my favourite of those proposals.

Successfully uses BSsense. :p

Mine too! I'll make it so.

Agreed on the poison, feats, and advancement.

From the original text, I'd like to limit the flight a bit more. Maybe it gets fatigued after 1 minute of flight, requiring a certain amount of rest?

Hah! That won't do you any good, have you seen my Bluff modifier?;)

Something like:

Feeble Flyer (Ex): A Mercikiller Wyrm has very weak wing muscles. After every minute of flight it must succeed at a Fortitude check (DC15 +1 per additional minute of flying) or become fatigued and be forced to land. The wyrm must rest for 10 minutes for every minute it spends flying. A wyrm that is already fatigued from other causes can not fly, although it can perform controlled glides which prevent it taking falling damage.

I'm assuming you mean "Fortitude save", and if so, that looks pretty good.

Updated.

Do we need to mention converting the venom to elixers of truth in the flavor text?

Make it a Con check rather than a Fort save (and maybe make it DC 10+1/minute), and I'll get on board.

It seems like a large point of these critters, so I'd put the elixir of truth in the flavor text. CR 8?

Dang it. It was a garbled Constitution check, and I was originally going for a DC 10 +1 per minute Con check then changed it to Fortitude DC 15 +1/minute.

I just forgot to change the "check" to "save".

Although, upon reflection I prefer the Con check version, since Forced March and Suffocation uses Con checks, e.g.:

Feeble Flyer (Ex): A Mercikiller Wyrm has very weak wing muscles. After every minute of flight it must succeed at a Constitution check (DC10, +1 per additional minute of flying) or become fatigued and be forced to land. The wyrm must rest for 10 minutes for every minute it spends flying. A wyrm that is already fatigued from other causes can not fly, although it can perform controlled glides which prevent it taking falling damage.

Yes we do. :)
