Ran into a guy at Pentacon one year that basically too brass hex stock cut it to length deburred the ends and drilled small dimples into it. Walla. Ofcourse I'm not sure where I am gonna get Brass Hex stock thats 1/4" flat-to-flat but I imagine it shouldent be that hard to find to one determined enough.

That was me too! be careful of copyrights If you try to make your own good luck "balancing" them to get them to roll fairly. It took me several weeks to get it right.
If people want some pewter dice drop me an email. I will(should) be doing some polyhedral dice in pewter in the popular sizes - d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20. does anyone think there's a need for a pewter d30?

How about we try to pick somewhere a bit more central, ne? Not everyone in michigan lives in the lower 1/4 of the state... Detroit is a long trip from Petoskey

Man, I really want a set of regular pewter dice after getting this. A full set of pewter dice! Wouldn't that rock? Does Chessex (or anyone) make a set?

Koplow Games makes pewter dice. Look them up.

I got some from Dragon Star Creations (see bottom right of their page).

Crystal Caste make sterling silver small ones.

I have a set of pewter dice from Dragon Star Creations.

I don't think they're balanced very well, but they are "random enough" for gameplay. One year at GenCon, in my first event, my first 2 rolls on the d20 were a '1' and then a '20' - we jokingly referred to them as the "perfect dice" for the rest of the round.

They make a nice loud sound on certain surfaces.

But, they also leave a black grime on your hands after extended use.

Ultimately, I retired my set (after just about a 18 months of using them), after I found a Koplow set (ordinary plastic) that rolled better for me. Last two times I leveled up, I rolled max h.p. on my Koplow set, my precious....
