• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

Cool villians never die! They just change settings.

To my shame, I did actually create the stats and pit a predator against my players, even though it was originally only meant to be there as background colour (exhibit in an evil wizards zoo. Players let it go).

I replaced one of the major villains in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil with Soujiro, the boy assassin of Rurouni Kenshin.

Picture a polite, always smiling, 14 year old boy who moves faster than you can see him, and who's the world's deadliest assassin. Great character in the anime. He suffered a little from the translation (the party couldn't have taken the anime's Soujiro, IMHO), but we had a lot of fun with him. Except for when he stole the paladin's bow. :)

While I don't recognize most of the names here:

Predator In A Zoo: Another thought that never occured to me :) What was its stats? It reminded me of the Superman as the last survivor of Krypton in an intergalactic zoo episode.

Re: "Soujiro, the boy assassin of Rurouni Kenshin," there was something similar I read once for Shadowrun. It involved transporting a crate to a warehouse to a heavily armed contingent of guards. The PCs barely leave when they hear a large firefight. 1 minute later, a tiny Japanese man walks out of the door, dusts his jacket, bows to the PCs and leaves.
