Coolest Dragons...

Smaug obviously is #1. See above post with Smaug breathing fire on his treasure horde.

The dragon from the Dragonslayer movie was pretty bad-ass. I watched the movie again a few weeks ago, and that dragon is still seriously nasty and cool-looking.

Smaug
Vermithrax Pejorative (Dragonslayer)
The male dragon in Reign of Fire
Draco (Dragonheart)
Fafnir (Ring of the Nibelungs)
Granamir (Masters of the Universe)
Saphira (Eragon movie)

Borys (despite his daft name he remains a favourite - as mentioned above, check him out on the cover of Valley of Dust and Fire.)

I have a lot of time for Tolkien's dragons, especially Glaurung, Smaug and the super-cool Ancalagon the Black.

Flamefang from the Elric books - older than the universe, what's not to like?

Vermithrax rocks, as others have already noted.

Ruth, the White Dragon - because I wanted one just like him when I was a kid.

And, of course, Draco. Because my little girl loves him to bits and always cries when he dies at the end of the movie, which always sets her soppy dad off as well. Anything that gets her vote gets mine without question :).

While the Iron Kingdoms dragons are cool in an all powerful god like way, spreading taint behind them and twisting all in their wake the Shadow Run dragons are way cooler.

Dunkie (unlike Thompgc I ain’t even going to attempt to spell it) as a media darling with his own chat show (pre suicide/sacrifice that looked like an assassination) , Rhonabwy with his obsession with music and diverse stock portfolio, Lofwyr running a Mega Corp and Cerberus the draconic hacker. They are all fascinating, not 2 dimensional and detailed. All with their rivalries, alliances and interests. Dragons of the 6th World is an awesome source book.

They are also interesting as foes as they aren’t straightforward. Their physical stats are the least scary thing about them. As statted one good shot from a sniper rifle will do them. Dunkie was described as being rather small (for a dragon) but was known as one of the most powerful. Cross them and they won’t turn up to kill you. They’ll buy up your company, call in your debts, cancel your credit cards, they’ll send round the lawyers, they’ll run a smear campaign with the media company they own, they’ll blackmail you and you’ll never know who is responsible until it is too late…

What’s worse, they’ll hire you through intermediaries then send you out to die.

There is a saying in Shadowrun. Watch your back, shoot straight, conserve your ammo, don’t trust an elf and never deal with a dragon.

We should never forget Trogdor, the Burninator.

Shadow of the Colossus has some of the best dragons I have seen in video games (okay, technically, they're colossi). That game is simply stunning in the way that it portrays the size and power of the huge beasts. The worst portrayal of Dragons in video games is Lair for the PS3, which is one of the most disapointing games ever.

Todd McFarlane has a series of dragon toys out that are quite impressing for the price. I am also a big fan of the Collosal Red Dragon mini from DDM, although I think that calling it a "mini" is a bit of a stretch.
