Coolest Dragons...

We should never forget Trogdor, the Burninator.

Shadow of the Colossus has some of the best dragons I have seen in video games (okay, technically, they're colossi). That game is simply stunning in the way that it portrays the size and power of the huge beasts. The worst portrayal of Dragons in video games is Lair for the PS3, which is one of the most disapointing games ever.

Todd McFarlane has a series of dragon toys out that are quite impressing for the price. I am also a big fan of the Collosal Red Dragon mini from DDM, although I think that calling it a "mini" is a bit of a stretch.

The Gargantuan Blue Dragon is much cooler than the Colossal Red, in no small part due to the more "dragony" position.

the trouble with Ancalagon the Black, although he has the coolest dragon name of all time, is we never really meet him. Not like Smaugy and Glaurung. We know just how nasty those two can be. Whereas although Ancalagon is described as the most terrible of all dragons it all happens "off screen."

And the Dragon King of the Western(?) Sea from the Monkey TV show. But not the one who turns into Horse, he needed smacking.

Well, the War of Wrath and Ancalagon's battle with Earendil don't get the same depth of treatment as do Glaurung and Smaug, but they're there nevertheless. I wouldn't say it was "off-screen" (it all occurs in the main narrative after all) but would agree that the details are largely glossed over. A shame, because he does indeed have a pretty cool name . Could be worse. He could have gotten the same treatment as poor old Scatha

Yeah, all we know about Scatha is Merry got a hold of his horn. Oh, OK he was killed by an ancestor of Eorl the Young whose name I can't recall just at the mo. I just wanted to say that thing about Scatha's horn.
