I'll second Green Destiny . I think its obvious that the sword was a +5 Vorpal Keen sword, probably the only of its kind because so many DM's won't let Vorpal and Keen stack :D

Seriouslly, a sword that a girl picks up and makes her better than hardene, experienced adventurers is probably even more than +5. Cuts through an iron tetsubo like butter too.

CT:HD was based on a short part of a very long series of stories about chinese heroes. So technically it is from literature.

Stormbringer was pretty cool too.

Had to go with Stormbringer, of course.

But I've always had a soft spot for the Sword of Shannara. I mean, that is one of the deadliest weapons around. A little unweildy though.

I voted for Stormbringer. However, a close second was Changeling from C.J. Cherryh's Morgaine series. Stormbringer had the angst, but Changeling had an alien feel that I found quite interesting.

Glyfair of Glamis

I'd go with Stormbringer also. so very cool in an alive evil sort of way.

Changeling has the same 'just as dangerous to friends as enemy's vibe, but it's more a cold, inpersonal, alien feel. Still very cool, just not up to Stormbringers standards.

And props to the Great Weapons of the Vlad Taltos series. Blackwand, Iceflame and the Morganti weapons are in cool in general. A less aware but more pissed off malevolence.

I'm shocked not one vote for Twinkle and Icingdeath!!!

I voted for Stormbringer but don't think I would want it nor to be in its presence for very long- sorta like my soul where it is.

From the Shannara series, I actually think the Sword of Leah is the coolest. A sword that can cut through magic, wow!

As I'm reading The Swordsman's Oath by Juliet E. McKenna, I'd like to mention Ryshad's sword, Temar D'Alesennin. Not only does it have a personality, it has a whole life story and a thirst for revenge.
