Cooperative Dungeons Feedback Requested.

I'm currently running my group through CD 01. We're still working on it, but I'll write up a summary of our experiences once we finish the dungeon (in 3-4 weeks, probably).
Oh hell yes. I would very much appreciate that.

If you want to make the next one using ID, I could consider you making it.

I think that's kind of my point. I would specifically *not* want to use ID, because I think it's extremely limited.

Elephant, please also post your CD-1:Terror & Blasphemy story in this CMG board: http://www.creativemountaingames.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=12

You'll just have to register before posting. Thanks !

I'm sorry then...

That said, I will make a cave complex for CD-5 so it will be different from the previous ones in that regard.

I'm hoping that the nextg Cooperative Dungeon will feature a dragon, perhaps even a dragon's lair with minions. That would rock.
Cool!

Ideally, we could do a whole series (yeah, I know) of lairs, one for each type of dragon. A good, deviously designed dragon's lair is probably one of the hardest things to just "whip up" on the spur of the moment for a DM. You always wind up overlooking some obvious angle of attack that a Dragon (with way more INT that you have) would spot right away.

I guess it's not called "Interactive Meadow"... but anyway, there's plenty of things you can do with caves. I haven't seen much water yet in the CDs, so that might make a good complication for the next one. Even better, you could do multi-level sea caves so that you get tidal variation in the water levels.

I ran CD2...great job.

It was a great time and fit in perfectly with what I needed. I had to change all the humans to hobgoblins, as I did with Lord Anarchy, but beside that, I used it as it is. Oh, and Anarchy turned out to be an ancient enemy of one of the friends PC's. Considering one of players is the ultimate law-toting paladin, he heard the name anarchy and practically went in the dungeon by himself.

Notes** The first trap kicked the hell out of the PC's. They got zapped by the skulls and the burining oil. They almost went home crying before the adventure started.

The thieves were cannon fodder even when upped to hobgoblin status, and didn't do much of anything. The two kobolds(named Tot and Flot in my campaign) in the dining area were great RP'ing because one of the characters spoke draconic. The wizard (Shandurkul?) also got hit by a lucky shot and died quickly due to a seriously low amount of HP. The party saw the statue of the dwarf and knew something was up regarding the medusa. They only found the door into the thieves guild because the medusa told them it was there in exchange for her freedom. The paladin is still pissed at em about that. What can I say, it's tough to find secret doors with no rogue in the party!

Also the last battle with Anarachy and some vampire spawn was a helll of a fight. I had to pull some punches to not have a TPK. My biggest disappointment was the PC's completely avoiding the preacher ghost room, once they saw the evil idol on top of the platform. I was going to seriously screw with them in that room.

Oh, BTW, one of the PC's has adopted Barron, the human boy, as his apprentice. I didn't foresee that outcome happening!

Great job and thnaks for the help. Of course the PC's will eventually get to Terror and blashemy, but they aren't quite ready for that... :)

Thanks for you comments everyone. I would love for people to post their actual experience or impressions of the CDs. It would help the CD team shape the dungeons ahead. :)

And you could have pirates. Arr.

Ahh, finally! It took a while, but we finally finished the module...and now, a couple of months later, I finally post the review. Bleh @ real life responsibilities and forgetting about this thread :(

Anyway, the party had a very memorable experience in the dungeon. They tore through the gargoyles quite quickly and never had problems with traps - the rogue was PARANOID (having gone through Crypt of the Devil Lich at GenCon shortly before we started the module).

The biggest problem they had was early in the module - they started at 13th level, and one of the PCs died vs. the Minotaur rogue. After he was Resurrected, though, he put the Blink Ring to good effect through the rest of the module.

The cleric managed to snap the damaged longsword (Strength domain + natural 1) in the Hall of the Sword - that was hilarious. Then the Green Hag tried to sell them a line about how the sword was this holy artifact, etc. etc...and she managed to escape the combat when she tried to stab them in the back. She showed up later, only to meet her destiny.

The party lost their cleric in battle a couple of times, but with Teleport to a friendly city available, True Resurrection kept them going. The worst part of the module was when three Vrocks managed to complete a Dance of Ruin - that nearly killed the party. Once they had suffered through the minotaur, the glabrezu, and the three vrocks (after killing the sorcerer and his henchmen), they went through the rest of the module with no problems - and that included a couple of extra Vrocks I threw into the climactic battle (heh, heh, heh...no Dance of Ruin there - the party slew them straightaway).

All in all, it was fun and memorable. The party HATED some of the monsters they came across, and they were absolutely thrilled to finally slay Blasphemy!

The best part was, they never killed the drow wizard. They left him alive in the study and even asked to buy magic items from him! After Blasphemy was dead, they helped him discover an alternative to the drug that Blasphemy had been providing him with.
