Cooperative Dungeons open call to artists

As some of you might already know, ENworlders are creating cooperative dungeons (adventures). We are now working on the third one of the series, and we need someone to illustrate the cover.

You might already have the art we need in your portfolio ! If so, please submit your art in this thread. The theme of this adventure is undead, especially spectre. If you have such an uncorporeal undead picture, that would be perfect. If not, other low-level undead pics would be good. If your pic doesn't have undead, but you think it would fit the adventure, submit it too.

IMPORTANT: Even though Cooperative Dungeons are made in collaboration with unremunerated people, the output we're looking for is of highly professional quality. I (we) will not take submissions that, even if they're quite good, are not on par with our high-end goal. This is in NO-WAY negative criticism on you art.

CD1 is already available (look in my .sig) and 650 people have downloaded it so far, some of them probably game designers. That is substantial exposure for any artist.

I don't have anything at the moment but I would be keen on painting a cover for you to consider. Given that I am working from scratch you may wish to suggest what a really good cover picture should include. Even if you don't choose my submission it would be good practise for me to work to a brief. How about a powerful glowing spectre looming over a small party of adventurers in the small dungeon room? Painted in full colour acrylic?

If you feel really really bold, you could score some points by including some of the other creatures in the background. So far we have a ghostly chef, demon centipedes, shadows, an evil cleric, magic missile shooting statues, and two phantom fungus (one a ghost).

I am still very interested in doing this but having been told by Trainz that 'the style and medium you use is not suitable for our goal.' I am not sure my submission will be entertained? I was intending to do an acrylic painting, my portfolio shows mainly b/w rpg interior art because that is the main type of work that I get. I am confident that I could acheive or surpass the quality of the pieces shown on the main thread, but I am hesitant to spend the half-day it will take to paint the piece when I have been explicitly dis-invited from submitting.

I guess it won't happen then.

I do think that (once inked) your pencils would look great if they were on a colored background instead of white paper.
