copying scrolls into my spellbook - what goes?

Hey,

I'm playing a cleric with, among others, Spell as a domain. What I'm wondering - is it possible to use Anyspell in conjunction with any non sor/wiz arcane spells, such as bard? Would it be possible to copy a bard spell from a scroll into my spell book, and then use it with Anyspell?

Also, I'm just scratching the surface of what is possible with this. Any ideas for good divine + arcane synergies I might look into?

As I read it, you can use any arcane spell, including Bard spells, with AnySpell, as long as it is of a low enough lvl.

However, AnySpell does not allow you to copy spells into a spellbook. You'll need to find someone else to do that for you.
And since only Wizards can write spells into spellbooks (core, not sure about other base classes in splat books), you won't be able to write the Bard spell into a spellbook.

My group plays mostly core with a few things from Complete sprinkled in. However, most of the spells I have in the book so far have been added out of RP ("I buy a scroll of Invisibility for my spellbook, is that okay?"). I think my DM was not aware of the fact only wizards can copy spells into spell books (or my Magic domain somehow triggers in this), I sure was not.

So, if I can get a wizard to copy a bard scroll into my spell book, it would work?

In my opinion: no.

Copying spells into a spellbook is spelled out rather precise in the PHB p.178/179, and part of the procedure is for the wizard to LEARN the spell.
Since the wizard cannot learn bard spells, he won't be able to copy it into a spellbook.

So, for bard spells, you're stuck using Scrolls.

Unless someone here wants to contradict me, of course, or your DM decides to continue running things as you have up to now.

so far I haven't tried to write bard spells into my spell book, I'm not going to try something with my DM that is inherently impossible - just trying to cover my bases so I don't look like a fool for bringing it up in my group :)
