Coraline

Nikosandros

Golden Procrastinator
So, has anyone else already seen it?

I've gone this evening and I really enjoyed it. An engaging story, a very likable protagonist and gorgeous visuals.

I also really enjoyed the film, and this is definately one worth seeing in 3D if you get the chance, the 3d effects add nice depth to the film without overpowering it.

Agreed. The 3D was very nice, but not a gimmick.

As an aside, do other people also find it a bit strenuous to the eyes to watch a 3D movie? I'm really enjoyng the technology, but my eyes a re rather fatigued at the end of the movies.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I didn't like the 3D. I found it more a nuisance than an innovation and would have rather watched it without it (felt the same about Up). The only really amazing 3D movie I've seen is an Imax movie about dinosaurs.

I think it has to do with your eyes trying to shift your focal plane (and being unable to) when viewing a virtual 3D space. I frequently have tired eyes & a headache after watching a 3D movie (but movies like Coraline make it worth it).

That makes sense. There is also the factor that the image is less luminous due to the filters in the goggles, but the motivation that you give is probably more of an issue.
