The problem with pop culture gags is that pop culture moves on...
Well this show ended nearly 25 years ago and launched around the time Cheers ended. I’d say it was timely then. Even so, classics are classics and never get left behind. People still make memes out of Casablanca.

Very true. However, there is a distinction. Casablanca has had the time to prove its staying power. There are very few memes for Alias Boston Blackie, or even Mrs. Miniver (and that film almost swept the academy the year Casablanca came out). I mean, I'm sure people were making Casablanca references 1943-1967, but the references they have made since are more akin to us making Cheers references now than in 1993. In 1993 it* seems much more current pop culture reference than classics reference, regardless of how classic Cheers might eventually be considered. As to that -- I like Cheers. I like the energy, the timing, and** the on-screen cast chemistry. I don't know if it will be regarded as a classic.
*IMO, if that was not clear
**what I've found to be make-or-break for sitcoms, especially after you've already heard the jokes

I think you do the same game with Cheers and list all the television series of the time nobody could recall now, but where popular then. Meaning, Cheers does have classic status.

Also, I know the tiny text has become your thing, but I cant read it and have no idea what it says.

I'll buy that. Certainly for now. I'm not sure it will have intergenerational staying power, as AFAICT the younger generation isn't latching onto it the way they are Friends (or Star Trek). But among those who were there for it originally, it definitely has staying power compared to Empty Nest or Perfect Strangers or the like.

I get it. Everything I've tried to do for making side-points leaves someone frustrated. If anyone has a different suggestion, I am all ears. Anyways, they are:

What is interesting is the deep cuts. Im not sure what has fueled it. Maybe Deadpool or maybe it was happening before Deadpool. There is a discussion around making a Beastmaster RPG that reminded me of a joke in a Fox show Sara Conner Chronicles in which they reference a fictional Beastmaster 7 movie. You mention Perfect Strangers here, but in The Leftovers there is a joke that actually includes the lead actor in the series.

In the past, you had either remember these things, or go researching for them. Now, with wikis and endless vaults of streaming services, even the semi-classics seem to be immortal at the ease of a keyword search.

If it works for you, keep doing it. I just wanted to point out I cant read it because its too small.

S1 E8: “The Passenger”

Dr Bashir states that “a humanoid only uses a small portion of its brain”.

Surely science had disproved that myth in the 90s! LOL.
I think he meant because of computers. In the future they do everything for you. You just scream “tea..hot….” and get what you want.
