Core books gift set not available on Amazon?

IIRC the existence of the set has been confirmed both by Scott Rouse and by WotC summer catalog. Does anyone know why it isn't listed on Amazon?

I haven't been able to find it yet, either, but release is still months away. They'll probably have it up in plenty of time for you (& me!) to pre-order.

From the sound of things, the decision to make the gift set is relatively recent, probably after they already solicited the core books to distributors. It'll be added to Amazon soon enough.

That's what I was thinking.

Depending on exactly how my game plays out over the next few months, I may hold out the extra month for the gift set.

I was just perplexed because Amazon lists books that are slated to come out much alter like H3 and the PHB special edition... but you are probably right. The decision to sell the gift set is probably a recent one compared to those other books.

And finally, it's available for per-order on Amazon... even though it is currently listed at full price.

Thanks for the link. I don't want to pre-order though and have them not lower the price though, so on the Wish List it goes for now.

If you make a pre-order on Amazon and the price goes down later, you will pay the lower price.

When you preorder, they automatically lower the price if the price drops (since they want as many people as possible to preorder). So even if one vendor drops the price by 50 percent for 12 hours, you'll get that lower price.

I'm aware of the policy; what if they don't lower the price?

Unlikely I know, but I'd feel pretty dumb paying $33 I don't have to.
