So...all tease and no please, eh? Where could I find some action on that creation myth?

Old dragon, best of dragon, or 1e Unearthed Arcana. Maybe 2e Demihuman deities. Its been a while. IIRC dwarves are divine forge creations Moradin breathed life into or something like that.

I have no problem with racial deities; though I'd prefer the non-humans to have more than one choice as to who to worship, for some reason they're not given such. So, to even the playing field a tiny bit, I propose we vote off all the Human deities until only one remains, then put that surviving Human representative up against the other races' representative deities and see how it does.

So, to slowly begin this procedure, Vecna gets my downward-pointed thumb.

Dragon #58, p. 25 (also reprinted in Best of Dragon, Vol. III)

Basically, Moradin forged dwarves from iron and mithral secretly "in a forge in the fires at the heart of the world" and surprised the other gods with them. He gave his creation souls by breathing on them (which also cooled the forged ones). Thus dwaves are left with a strong affinity for the earth, and in particular the underground and its minerals.

Mind you, this was all 1st edition, but I don't think it has been ret-conned.

Note that in those articles (also reprinted in Best of Dragon vol. 3) we were given more deities for each race, and these were reprinted in 1st ed's Unearthed Arcana.

My vote is based on his 3.x treatment where they made him LN instead of keeping the LN(E). I have trouble with Paladins of Wastri existing (which is possible under 3.x rules). I've also experienced a Living Greyhawk player using a Paladin of Wastri to extol their own real life biggotry. Otherwise, the Hopping Prophet was an OK story pre-3E, but not my favorite by far.
I though Living Greyhawk players were specifically forbidden from worshipping Wastri.

Or did that ruling come about only recently, cause of guys like this?

Isn't that just a rip-off of the dwarven creation story from Tolkien?

I haven't played LG for a few years, so they surely could have banned Wastri. I wouldn't be surprised if that person was a major factor.

I don't mind that the designers of 3E didn't want anymore deities with funky alignments like LN(E) [which both Wastri and Wee Jas had], but a unilateral decision to just drop the (E) without looking at the deity's background is just laziness. Wastri is definately LE in my opinion, while I think they accidentally got it right for Wee Jas as LN.

Voted for Corellon Larethian. All of the other racial dieties bring something to the table (even Garl Glittergold's got a good myth - how he was an ass to Kurtulmak and got his holy symbol), but Corellon's just the god of Elfy McElfelfelf. No thank you!

BTW, I'll second the opinion of anyone who says that Wee Jas is a superior deity. Not a great name, but a great goddess.

Demiurge out.
