I voted Kord because I never understood why he was there. He is reduant.

I kinda feel the opposite. Kord is what all those other fighting gods only wish they could be! The others are all psychotic, gender-confused, too-omni-uber, or single-minded. Kord is pure, battle-lovin', monster-huntin', beast-wrasslin', dragon-slayin', martial-arts-wieldin', sword-swingin', fun-lovin', Nordic awesomeness with none of the obsessions, psychoses, fetishes, or baggage that the other core gods of battle suffer from. I really like the descriptions Kord and his faith got in Deities & Demigods, Defenders of the Faith, and the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer.

Kord isn't redundant. Kord makes nearly all other battle gods redundant. He's exactly what most warriors, athletes, and (to a lesser extent) adventurers would want to follow.

Yet he's not as overly-glorified as "das Uber Alf" Corellion "I'm a pretty man-girl, I'm a pretty man-girl!" Larethion. That elf-snob's only use in the pantheon is that he's the only god of art and music in there, which sucks. Kord is so awesomely appropriate as the patron deity of various adventurers and ordinary folk, with none of the wierd baggage, relationships, or mental conditions of the other battle gods.

For now, I'm voting Vecna off the god-isle. Thanks Mr. Uber-Lich, but we already have several other gods of death, magic, and secrets, each, and you never should've been a full god in the first place. Nerull does your job well enough and Wee Jas has your other aspects covered, without being overly redundant. It is unfortunate that Wee Jas has such a stupid name, though.

Most of the core deities seem bland or pointless without any expansion material, but D&Dg, DotF, and LGG do a fair job of giving some of those a more detailed and neat flavor.

I'll probably vote for other redundant or stupid deities after Vecna; Ehlonna's definitely rather redundant for instance, as long as both Obad-Hai and either Yondalla or Corellon are in the pantheon. Pelor could probably be thrown in a ditch too, since Obad-Hai, Yondalla, and Heirroneous cover everything he does, altogether. Though Hextor's brother has a rather stupidly-long and easily-misspelled name, just like Corellon's. At least it's a failing that several core deities possess, so it's nothing to hold against any one of them in particular. (...except Corellon)

But not all of the racial dieties are like Corellon--Moradin and Yondalla in particular have their own niche in a pantheon even without their racial ties. Gruumsh makes a better evil Barbarian God than Erythnul--and would be even better if he was mythologically divorced from Corellon.

Yondalla always seemed to me more of a goddess of good luck and prosperity. But Moradin? God of mountains?

The problem is that there are stupid core rules that don't back this up at all. Why only halfling can be cleric of Yondalla, and only dwarves can be cleric of Moradin? Obviously you can house rule these out, but my point is that the core idea of racial deities seriously sucks.

I definitely prefer the FR way, where every major race has a pantheon of many gods.

I don't like gods of certain classes, when there's a special class for priests and I don't like gods of magic when every god gives magic equally. So Boccob shall get may vote.

Guh! Why are so many people voting Lolth off? She is one of the coolest deities in the history of the GAME!
Yeah. She's probably even in the top 1000 of cool D&D deities. ;)

Well, since you already voted off my top choice by not making the list of Greyhawk gods comprehensive, I will have to vote for poor Yondalla - goddess of yo-yos. :p

My real vote is for Wastri, the hopping biggot.

The dwarf creation myth beats all the other races' hands-down, partially because there actually IS one and it feels like an actual myth, rather than something some white guys from the Midwest made up.

Hell, Moradin even makes the wonky pre-3E nature of souls and spirits something interesting.

So...all tease and no please, eh? Where could I find some action on that creation myth?

I voted Corellon Larethian. Because I hate elves. I mean I REALLY hate elves.

Wee Jas. How we can taunt Garl for his name and set aside hers is beyond me. At least my players don't feel the need to mock Glittergold.

I pronounce Wee Jas as "Vey-ahs". Which is a cool name for a goddess of MAGIC and DEATH.

Yeah, you heard that right... MAGIC and DEATH! GONADS and STRIFE! TROOP SHIP!

Looks like Vecna, Lolth, and the demi-human deities that are not Moradin will be the first to go. Should be interesting after that. I think Nerull may win in the end, because no one is willing to go up and tell him he has been kicked of the island.

JH: IIRC Wee Jas' folks brought the Invoked Devastation, and were in turn Rain of Colorless Fired. The Invoked Devastation was actually much more devastating, but didn't really leave much in the way of evidence or witnesses, so no one is quite sure what it was.
