Lolth.

I blame you for taking an idea with potential (evil subterranian elves) and turning them into what we have today:

a tired, cookie-cutter, dime-a-dozen cliche.

Get ye hence, you overgrown 66hp demon. Your time's long since due.

I voted Yondalla. I was going to vote Pelor, but I couldn't remember if he was the dull Greyhawk god that I was initially thinking of, and didn't bother to check my books.

I'm a bit surprised at the Lolth hate, though (maybe I shouldn't be). Is it just because of the FR drow overkill that everyone hates her so much? Greyhawk (original) Lolth was cool, wasn't she?

Transference is bad, mmkay? ;)

I'm just the opposite. Maybe I'm wrong for blaming the drow on Lolth, but given that I dislike them for their matriarchy and their spider fetish, I have a feeling that she's partially to blame. I've got better things to say about Yondalla, though. I thing she's one of the few decent gods in the entire pantheon--She's basically the only god that 75% of your world's inhabitants would actually worship.

The core pantheon includes a god for paladins, a god for druids, and a god for wizards. But who is the god for farmers? Ehlonna, Pelor, or Obad-Hai control the natural forces that just as often work against the farmer, but the only god that encourages his bounty is Yondalla. Who is the god for housewives? Beyond Yondalla, well, your next best choice is probably Lolth.

The core pantheon includes gods for heroes. It includes gods for villians. It includes three seperate gods for necromancers. But It doesn't include any gods for the common man: Gods of agriculture, of fertility, of wisdom, of love, or of art. Bard is a core class and it doesn't include a god of music. Yondalla is one of the few gods that actually matter to those outside of the adventuring circle. Hopefully, she stays up on the big list for a while yet.

This is easy.

Vecna Must Die!

He is a mysterious old wizard, long gone into realm of legend. Not a god. :p
Good call, and one I'll keep in mind in upcoming rounds. I personally voted against Pelor. Sun gods are soooo boring. :D

Tough choice. The gods I personally dislike make good patrons for the PC's opponents. I'm going to go with Kurtulmak for now, because I'm playing up the draconic aspect of kobolds in my campaigns, and Tiamat makes a better patron.

Actually there was an Ecology of the Kobold article a little ways back that linked the two in a quite satisfactory way, I felt. Made it so you could have both influences on kobold society without it being a strain. Very tidy.

Stop reading my mind!

(Actually, I don't think Yondolla works nearly as well for kenderized halflings as she did for hobbits, but the goddess herself is still quite a good one, for the reasons stated. IMC, I use Estanna -- from the Book of Exalted Deeds -- to fill the same role in a non-race-based fashion.)
