Garl to start with. Not only is it a really dumb name, but he's the embodiment of everything wrong with the gnome stereotype.

I used to think so, but a player in my Midwood campaign has really run with the trickster god thing and made it work, IMO. Story hour coming one day ...

It was a tough call, though, and I can already tell you who my next vote is going to: Vecna. Don't get me wrong, I like Vecna a lot, but he belongs as an ancient mysterious figure or, at most, a demigod. His ascension to the ranks of true divinity really weakened him as a character and a concept, IMO.

I have to agree on this. IMC, Vecna was a scary ass lich who may have had links to a god of secrets (Kran, in Praemal, for those who care), but that's it. Golems with giant eyeballs for heads? Not so much, thanks.

I've never really had a problem with Garl, myself. Don't really have a problem with his name, either.

I'm glad to see that the Elf deities are getting knocked on. Y'know, I've seen Lolth show up from time to time, but I've seen nothing but hatred for ol' Corellon. Though, I dimly recall the deity showing up once in an FR game, circa 1998 or something....

Meh, I personally don't like any of the racial deities really, but Corellon I don't like because it always seems like he's described as being really awesome at everything.

I think it has something to do with all of the elf-hate floating around on the net. Or maybe it's cuz if you say "Corellon" backwards, it sounds sorta like "noooooo eric", and some E.N.er's took offense.

Fharlanghn is in my opinion, pretty pointless, but a bit interesting. I have no problem with any of the deities on the list. I like Boccob, Wee Jas, and St. Cuthbert the most.

Correlon being the OMG SO AWESOME god is a bit tiresome, but then, that's something elf depictions often backslide into and isn't a problem particular to the god.

St. Cuthbert has gotten more meaty and interesting over time.

This series is the one I was talking about that makes Fharlanghn's cult interesting (to me).
