Coruscant (Star Wars) & D20 Future

For the D20 Future game I have been thinking up, I have bee contemplating transforming Earth into one giant city. I was thinking of using the info in Coruscant and the Core Worls, modifying it ever so slightly from Coruscant and using it as a base to 'run with.' Based on the level of tech from Coruscant I'd be setting the campaign in PL8. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

My 2 cents suggestion:

This city is on terraformed Venus or Mars, not Earth. Earth has become a paradise garden, but it is of restricted access; only the rich and influential live there, and also a number of tourists are allowed each year. But basically, less than 500 millions of people are authorized on Earth. Furthermore, on Earth are also great cities inside the oceans. BTW: the moon has become very similar to coruscant too.

I'm asking if anyone thinks it is a decent project. Basically, Earth looks like Coruscant from the moon, and tech has allowed us to explore other planets in our solar system as well. Mars has been terraformed, and has three major cities, we have one lunar base, a satellite constantly orbiting Io (one of Jupiter's moons) and a small outpost on Pluto. I guess what I am asking is: would anyone here be interested in playing a game like this? Seriously, I might host this game here at ENWorld.

Yes, personnaly I would be interested playing a game like this, as far as the setting is concerned. The setting itself is okay. Yes.

What do you mean by "hosting it on Enworld?" Playing by email? If so consider me in! I have d20 Modern and d20 Future, but not Coruscant book. As such, I am a perfect player. Plus the fact I won't play d20 M/F anytime soon, so I would like such opportunity.

You know, I'd be interested in playing, too. Sounds like a neat idea, and I've never played a play-by-email game before, so I'd be keen on giving it a shot.

I didn't know that on Enworld were some online by post rpg. Personally I would rather do it using both: enworld posts (for important things), mailing list for various combats, skill checks, and whatnots, plus using an online dice roller (I know of a good one if need be).

Is there any chance this will be?

Depends on your take of it. I don't have the Coruscant books so can't reply to that specifically, but if it were me, I'd probably lean more to a Bladerunner-isque feel if it was earth more consistently developed from today.

PL7 (I think, from remembering Alternity - I haven't yet put my hands on a D20 future book) Gritty, dirty and dim, huge conglomerations with buildings commonly hundreds of stories tall, the floating police cars and billboards. IIRC, a setting somewhat like highlander 2, except for no orange atmospher shieldy thing.

Then again, I guess that pretty much matches up with Coruscant from the films, although I would suppose you'd have to push the PL level. Just for some reason, even though the personal seediness is there in that scene where Anakin and Obiwan go into the casino/bar the environment is never as dirty/cluttered as I would expect. Where DO they hide all those cleaner-bots, I wonder?
