Having read through Planeswalker Guide 1 to Bloomborrow it seems they did a better job with it then Planescape or Spelljammer. Maybe Ravenloft. They should stick to what they do best MtG and new settings and leave the classic settings alone where they can descrate them.

I do believe that the MTG team absolutely smokes the D&D team when it comes to world building, setting development, whatever you want to call it. The budget difference must be gigantic.

The down side to the MtG though are they are way too quick to smash planes to pieces, the need to back away from that kind of story line like the Phyrexian arc and more like the Omenpath arc and the current Dragonstorm arc.

I am so into this set. The offspring mechanic is so adorable.

The Bloomburrow debut video was in my YouTube feed last week, which is a little weird since I don't play Magic at all. Still, the thumbnail image was interesting so I gave it a click. Still not interesting in Magic the game, but the world looks pretty fun.

I'd love to see something done for 5E with this setting. The Owlins and Haregons could use some friends. :)

The only other setting that kind of caught my eye in the past was Kamigawa. I asked the guy at my FLGS about Bloomburrow just casually and he said that people were calling in about about it and interest is high. Cool. Take a hint WotC.

First Planeswalker Guide article is up: Planeswalker's Guide to Bloomburrow, Part 1

There's a lot here to like and a lot here that makes me interested in a potential campaign here. The Calamity Beasts are practically Kaiju in stature to the animal folk, there's a lot of interesting areas to put dungeons and interesting spaces.

I'm actually getting more and more into a Bloomburrow Campaign book. Plus this set's art, MTG art rarely fails, but this set is setting a new bar.
Oh I really like the Calamity Beasts and the small scale of Valley, I think I;m going to yoink that and add it somewhere in my homebrew fae realms

Bump!
Uh... I mean...
Part two of worldbuilding is out:
:D

I like these and can certainly see them as adventurers

The bravest animals in the land are Captain Beaky and his band
That's Timid Toad, Reckless Rat, Artful Owl and Batty Bat
They march through the woodlands singing songs
That tell how they have righted wrongs.
