Reminds me of something that happened in the middle of a class here at university. Suddenly, a cell phone goes off. One guy goes "God damn, who's the idiot who forgot to turn his cell off?" The phone rings again, and the same guy goes "Oh wait a minute..." ;)

Now I fail to see why you need to have a cell phone on during class. That's worse than in a restaurant.

The worst cell phone rudeness I've encountered was when I was on the phone with an office coworker, who paused our conversation to answer her cell phone. She proceeded to HAVE AN ENTIRE CONVERSATION on the cell phone with me on "hold" and able to hear the whole thing.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST. I am a waiter at a restaurant and people talking on their cells is basically a monkey wrench on a busy night. It messes up my rounds so bad because of timing issues. I have repeatedly had someone break out the cell when im in the middle of taking drink or food orders for a table, then complain that im interrupting their conversation. Grrrrr annoying stuff. :\

As for being a customer, I dont see a big problem with it unless your talking REALLY loud, over the ambience, or have 1 or 2 other people with you (because they'll be stampin their feet waiting for food or conversation.)
