Craft: Poisons

Where should I look to find rules on crafting poisons? Is it simply an offshoot of alchemy, or is it its own craft skill altogether?

I didn't see info on it in the DMG under poisons, but perhaps I didn't look hard enough. I tried to do a search here on ENWorld, but my searches always bomb out, so it wasn't worth it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd like my character to be able to start crafting poisons for use in game.

Poisons..

A couple places to look:

Plot and Poison by Green Ronin. A hardcover sourcebook on the Drow.

The Assasins Guide to Poison PDF from www.phillipjreed.com.. I think I found it on RPGNow.

Canting Crew by Gary Gygax. A hardcover sourcebook on Thieve's Guilds and cloak/dagger stuff.

And, www.seankreynolds.com for alternate rules for continual poison damage and a variant to resisting poison.

Of the 3, Plot and Poison gives the best rules, IMHO, altho the Canting Crew provides a wealth of information on the underbelly of 'civilized' worlds. The Assasins Guide uses a feat tree to create depth to the creation process, a tack I did not prefer. It does have some nice 'sample' poisons tho
