And that is using Degrees of Success at its very basic level of better hits being more damage.

There is so much more one can explore with that

Convert a Degree of Success to armour damage;
Convert a Degree of Success to a wound;
Convert x Degrees of Success to a shove/push, trip, disarm, grapple etc
...etc

The first two above allow a player to interpret the successful attack on their character.
