Create A Powerful Spellcaster

D'oh I don't ask this much but...................... I want to make a powerful female CE human Level 20 wizard/Level 20 sorceror. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions of making a powerful spellcaster?

You probably don't want both Wizard and Sorcerer unless you need both for flavor reasons or are intending to make a character under the gestalt rules from Unearthed Arcana.

It is much more powerful to take Wizard 40 or Sorcerer 40 than split the two. You caster level at 20th won’t let you bypass any of the SRs you may encounter at that level.

I would try something like this:

Wizard 1-5 / Incantatrix 1-10 / Archmage 1-5 / Incantatrix 11+

Good epic feats would be automatic quicken and multispell, plus epic spellcasting and increased spell capacity.

Incantatrix is from the Player’s Guide to Faerun.

Well, first of all, do not stay in Wizard or Sorceror for more than 5 levels. Grab prestige classes (and there are a lot out there) that grant useful abilities on spells.

Sorceror and wizard just grant nothing except for more powerful familiars at higher levels, and the few feats wizard give are nothing compared to prestige class abilities out there.

So look though the books and see what classes match what you want to play.

At epic levels, it is ok to have chosen PrCs that lose up to 4 levels of casting since you can take the Practiced Spellcaster feat to make up the difference.

That and Improved Spell Capacity are helpful for epic spellcasters.

Archmage should always be a given IMHO.

Improved Spell Capacity sucks, just take Automatic Metamagic Capacity and Metamagic Freedom instead. Much simpler, and more fun!

Yes but this way he/she can GET more spells to cast. Normally you're stuck with what you got Al.
