Creating ECL creatures using FCTF !!!

RW, can you check into how Monte Cook is able to issue errata for his PDFs? Making such errata available (perhaps updates on sections that you consider tweakable) would be great.

Thanks!

I want to respond in more detail later, but let me begin by saying I agree with everything that Chiero said. It would be stunning if the very first edition of 4CTF managed to be balanced in all settings (specifically, 3E and d20 Modern and anything and everything else) AND could be used, as-is, as an ECL calculator and a PC class generating engine.

I mean, it only cost eight bucks!

That brings me to my other point -- the amount of irritation one has with errata is directly proportional to the amount of money one spent on the product. If I spend twenty-five bucks on Sword and Fist and have to wade through OBVIOUS errata (Expert Tactician, Halfling whatshisface, etc.), I get pissed off. But 4CTF was only eight bucks, for pete's sake! (Okay, add three or four bucks of inkjet ink :) ).

I suppose you could sweeten the pot for those who would be a little irritated -- I don't know if you track the names or credit card numbers of those who have bought products from you before, but maybe it would be workable to give repeat customers a small "credit" (a couple of bucks) towards a new purchase that contains errata for their older purchases, but has a bunch of new stuff besides?

In sum:

1) I personally wouldn't be irritated at all. 4CTF, as-is, doesn't require more tweaks to do what it was intended to do than 3E does, IMO.

2) I AM very interested in helping make tweaks (mostly, 4CTF/3E tweaks) to 4CTF. There's an ECL-generator and a class-generator in there somewhere, trying to claw it's way out. I can tell we're close. Maybe you should invite us to your super-secret Natural d20 Press forum :). You could share your opinions with us in a more open fashion, for one.

Well, I haven't received my invitation yet. How 'bout you, Forrester?
