Creative Resurrection Payments

Hi all.

Several characters in my FR campaign bit the dust last week. There are several churches nearby that could help the group out. The alive members of the group don't have the funds necessary for raise dead/resurrection. Quests are pretty much out, except for minor ones, because the group is on a quest currently. What might be another creative payment in blood or deed?

I am looking for any ideas you can come up with or examples that you all have used. Thanks.

Force the PCs to become converts to said religion and become paragons of the faith.

A Geas spell could be used to enforce behavior.

What kind of clergy are we talking about here?

What sort of quest are they on already? Could you tie in a story relating to the main quest and link it to the church? Maybe the BBEG of the Quest has Super Evil Religious Artifact that Good Church knows about and needs it Destroyed. Geas/Quest to keep the PC's from carting off with SERA for their own purposes. Add flavour to taste.

Their firstborn children have to be given to the church to become clerics, or basic clergy.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

To give a little more specific information without going into too much detail (there may be spying eyes about). The churches and organizations include 2 LG related deities, 1 NG related deity and a druid circle.

I had thought originally to have the 2 LG faiths require future tithes and the druid circle to make demands of the characters' first borns.

Anyone else have any ideas?
