Creature Catalog now in Dragon Magazine

The remaining chromatics would be ideal. I have conversions of the Orange and Purple allready in 3.5 format, I could probably crank out the yellow over a couple of days. And if three is too few, we can even add a lesser draconic deity to represent the three colors, a little sister to tiamat if you will.

well, don't bother with the stats just yet, unless it was something you were planning on doing anyway. You'd need to send a proposal letter, which of course has a good chance of being rejected. :)

three is not too few, but adding a Tiamat-equivalent dragon would be just fine. :)

Alternatly, we could choose a terrain and do half a dozen or so creatures to it. I think I have two or three creatures on my HD that would fit into a jungle setting with a aztec theme... (go Papalotl and Kisin!)

that's a just fine idea. :) we could probably toss in a few Maztica critters as well as other appropriate new and converted monsters.

and I have about a dozen creatures that would fit an arctic theme, including my resently posted Ice Naga.

perfect, since I was thinking about doing an arctic-themed piece. ;) but if you have that many critters already, we could do just an all new monsters article and save the conversions for another piece. We could see who else has arctic critters to contribute, and make a good mix out of that.

There are good examples of the proposals we've sent throughout this thread (links below)... so we need to set one up for each of your ideas.

If we pitch environment-themed critters, I'd focus on aquatic next, what with Stormwrack/Maelstrom up next.

I have a feeling they're tired of cold critters, what with Frostburn, the recent cold-based undead article, and several cold-based adventures in Dungeon. Although it doesn't hurt to send a query.

Water is good, Jungle is better. :p

Let's see, something like:

Papalotl - Giant carnivorous moth of dazzling beauty that stuns its prey.

Kisin - Elemental earthquake spirit of evil disposition.

Xajexe - Monstrous black jungle serpent with eye ray attacks.

Good start?

cool, that's a good start. :) i wonder if anyone else has any new monsters that would fit an Aztec/jungle theme.

for conversions, we have the Jagre and Chac from the Maztica setting. not sure if Greyhawk and Maztica have places like this, but i'm sure at least one of them does. i'll work more on ideas tomorrow - too sleepy now. ;)

The tuyewera conversion we did also fits into the jungle theme. The jungle behir and jungle stirge variants from the old ecology articles are other possibilities.

Jungle is probably a good choice, as I suspect that it will be the next in the Environmental Series line after Stormwrack/Maelstrom.

BOZ - I think we should start gathering up aquatic monsters for a future query, similar to what you've been doing with the desert monsters.

Well, I could attempt to convert the Rain Dragon...

cool. :) don’t do the conversion yet; we’ll worry about that later.

Tuyewera, excellent.

As for aquatic monsters, keep that one in mind for the future. :)

could you e-mail these critters to me, or give me links if they are on the boards, or post them in homebrews? i know i recently bumped the papalotl.

ok, rain dragon and tuyewera, strong considerations. behir and stirge variants i will look up. the conversions are slowing down at the moment, so i will start doing more research.

Don't send them anything yet, though. Apparently, Paizo had some major e-mail problems and are very backed up on going through submissions, so they requested people to wait awhile before submitting stuff.
