200 magic items in the PHB none listed for DMG!
Templates for Lich and 19 others will be in the DMG.
MM has rules for playing over a dozen Monsters as PC.

I liked a lot of what was said, the only thing I didn't really like was the fact that the swordmage is first appearing in the FR Player's Guide (unless I misread that somehow). Although I suppose this won't be the first time I've bought a D&D book for one specific thing, even if I had no use for anything else in it.

Note that this isn't me ragging on 4E, and the swordmage may very well appear in the arcane book coming out later.

Looks like the DMG will focus purely on running the game with nothing in it that players need to access without the DM's say so, i.e. templates for Lich if it would be allowed.

As funny as it sounds, I love the fact that templates are in the DMG because I can have two books open while making monsters instead of flipping back and forth; it's the little things in life I enjoy most.

New updates going up and will be linked here:

We are working on scanning the three character sheets we grabbed from the Dungeon Delve. We have two interviews to transcribe as well: one with Sara Girard and Rob Heinsoo, and the other with Andy Collins and "The Rouse".

Also, if we get to it (probably tomorrow) some quick thoughts about playing 4e, even if only for half an hour. Then Saturday we have our real games of 4e.

However, since we have three character sheets, and the press got free boosters of Dungeons of Dread, we're thinking of playing 4e on our own tomorrow night.

Can you quickly sum up your feelings about how the game plays?

I like it, being able to fire magic missiles every round was fun (even when I miss with them all the time by rolliing poorly.)

Either you'll like having your powers be the focus, or you won't. But it really is the primary thing driving the game (combat, at least, since all I played with the quickie delve)
