Cali is already lifting some restrictions for vaccinated crews
They might be able to do this campaign without being socially distanced
It's not quite that simple. The governor has already said that he's going to want masks in place after June 15 in many cases, raising a hue and cry in the usual quarters. And even after Tom Cruise's freakout earlier this year, his Mission: Impossible set did get shut down after someone spread COVID on set.

California is likely going to go in fits and starts, especially if any of the variants in the Southern Hemisphere make their way up north once the weather gets colder, which is the way to bet (since it's how the flu travels throughout the year, moving back and forth as each hemisphere moves into winter and people go indoors).

CR is very different than a full movie set
Other than the eight cast there's probably only two or three camera and production people in the room
It will be easier to double-vaxx everyone

Legend
Love all that, but to my mind the beta stories are the PC stories. Each PC should get a chance to resolve their conflict, with the rest of the party, before they finally engage with the alpha story.
There are a lot of ways to approach the situation. Whether their storylines unfold in a BETA STORY, the ALPHA STORY or some MINOR STORIES will be a product of what they write and how it best fits in.
The minor stories are the adventures and junior bosses along the way to the alpha and beta stories.
That may be true, in my designs, or they may be independent. Often they do not tie directly into a BETA or ALPHA story, but may provide lore useful to set up those stories. For example, during the dungeon crawl where the heroes are searching for an ancient artifact, they might come across background information that impacts the BETA, ALPHA or future MINOR storylines. It isn't an exact science. It is mostly a task of keeping track of the storylines, dropping the hooks, dropping the lore and waiting for the PCs to decide which hooks to follow and when.
