Critique of a new feline PC race

Salad Shooter

First Post
Hey! For my homebrew campaign setting, Discordia, there are a few new races. Could you all take a look at this one and tell me what you think? Anything, good, bad, or ugly, is appreciated. I'm still not sure if they are balanced completely. Thanks!

Dendrayil: A race of Feline Humanoids.

Modifiers: +2 Dexterity, +1 to Intelligence and Wisdom. Dendrayil are graceful,
intelligent, and wise in the manners of the world. However, they are not as strong
as humans, nor as tough, and suffer -2 penalties to Strength and Constitution.

Size: Medium

Speed: 30 ft

Vision: Lowlight Vision

Racial Attack Bonuses: +2 vs. Divine Magic. Because of their fur, they recieve
a +1 fortitude save vs. Fire, and a -1 fortitude save vs. Cold.

Skill Bonuses: Dendrayel recieve +2 to the following attributes:
Listen (They have sharp cat ears)
Balance, Jump, Move Silently (The grace of a cat)
Climb (Their claws assist them in this)
However, they cannot take Ride or Swim as class skill, no matter what class they
are. Cats despise water, and what beast would want a giant cat riding on them?

Favored Class: Warrior. No Dendrayel can take any of the "Holy" classes (Cleric,
Priest, Paladin or Druid). They do not claim any god as their Patron Deity, nor
do any of the Gods claim sovereignty over them.

Okay, a few thoughts.

First, what does their fur have to do with fire damage? I could see it would cause a PROBLEM with overheating, where as their fur would insolate for Cold damage (in reverse to helping resist fire and allowing more cold damage).

Second... have you SEEN a cat? They are *all* muscle. Well, when they're not fat. But they have powerful muscles.

I have to wonder about the riding animal thing; gnolls can get riders. ;)

And, I can recognize the fact you want cat flavor, but a lot of Bigger cats actually DO swim (Tigers paticularly). But, if these are Domestic cats, that makes sense.

IMHO, I've always seen cats like Elves. Dextrous, but a little frail. Or given them a -2 to Wis because they're distractable and capracious.

But, it looks good from here.

ok switch the cold/fire bonus/penalties

ditch the swim penalty even an unwilling cat can swim well. Maybe make have to make a will save to get near bodies of water deeper than they are tall.

ride penalties I can see cats make most other animals nervous and jittery
