Critiques needed: Toughness variant

Slightly [OT]

While not really on topic, as a House Rule to help Toughness out (its the little feat that couldn't after all) I allow it to auto-scale with level. What do I mean by that?

Simple enough. If you take Toughness, as soon as your Base Fort raises high enough to qualify you for the next level of Toughness (as introduced in MotW) you get that one. Since I have implemented that rule I have seen the number of people taking Toughness rise dramatically (from zero to one.) :D

Too tough to die

If you allow Toughness to modify the point at which you die, you run into a problem that all the Toughness feats can be taken multiple times.

I have a player in my campaign who with the exception of a handful of feats is planning on plowing all his feats and bonus feats into the Toughness feats. He's got his eye on 300+hp or so by 20th level. If I were to adopt that house rule, he'd become an infinite hit point pool.

Remember that by adding hit points at the bottom end, you're almost doubling the benefit of the feat.

In an upcoming campaign I am going to use the Con bonus to deaths' Door. This also means if you have a Con penalty you apply that.
Die Sickly wizard die :)

I am also going to use the Toughness adds 3 hp and 3 to death's door. I don't use the "other" toughness feats. I can't imagine someone taking Toughness more than once.
