Crossed Paths - ReRecruiting (closed)

Manzanita

First Post
Crossed Paths is a 3.5 DnD game set in my homebrew world resembling Mediterranean Earth around 1 A.D. This game started in Early May 2003, and has been going pretty steadily ever since. The PCs started at 2nd level, and have now just turned 4th.

The PCs are heroic, and are on a quest which could change the balance of power in the world. There is potential for inter-character conflict, thus there is no rogue's gallary and character creation will be done via email. Please don’t read the IC thread. Instead, we will together create a background that will motivate your PC to join the group, and for the group to want you to join.

I am looking for 1 or 2 more players to replace some players lost in cyberspace. Please only post your interest if you are able to check the boards quite frequently (at least 5 times/week), and feel you can commit for the next year of so. Character creation info is linked here. In short, PCs will start at 4th level. Default stats: 18,16,15,14,13,10 (plus one point at 4th). Core rules only. No psionics.

Reply here only with your interest. PC concepts should be emailed to me at kiwipie at Juno.com.

Interested...

I'm definitely interested...doubly so since I just got 'booked up' with 3.5 plus..well. Probably /too/much other stuff. I'm a veteran 3.0 GM and player, and played going back to 1st ed/Red Book/Blue Book Basic D&D. Have a couple of concepts kicking around in my head, I really like the Pax Romana setting. Hmm. Something Roman-Citizenish in the provinces, maybe...or a Knight, in the Roman sense, struggling to keep the required living standard...Will think about it and cobble something together today/tonight...

Great, eoghanbt. I go back to the three brown books before the first players handbook (what were they called now...?) I live in Grants Pass, by the way.

Perhaps I should mention the makeup of the current group. We have a elf wizard, and human rogue, druid and fighter. We also have a dwarf cleric, currently being NPCed, but perhaps to return as a PC. We also had a bard, who just died.

Email me your PC concept, & we can work out the details. Post here when you email me, as I check this more often than my Juno account.

hey Manzanita,

I was looking around the boards for a while now to find a PbP that i could join, although it's pretty hard to find one that has not been filled up by numerous other people getting to reply before i have a chance *pout*.

If u still have a spot left, i'd like to join up!!

K.

recruiting

Just wanted to touch base...enworld went down yesterday for a while. In a bit here I'll email you the concepts I knocked together.

Cheers!

Yes, it can be tough finding a game. One that lasts anyway. Living Enworld might be a good bet.

I'm only willling to take two new players at this point, so Dr. Zombie can have the second slot if he wants.

I've given it a bit of thought, & I think it would be good for someone to take over Dhormium, the Dwarven Cleric. Thels never really established much in him. Thels, if Dr. Zombie takes over, you're welcome to come back as a new PC.

Dr. Z, Since there is no Rogue's gallary, go ahead & write up Dhormium most any way you like. Before, he was 3rd level cleric of Moradin who wore chainmail, and weilded a dwarven waraxe. You can modify multiclass him, change dieties, domains, weapons or whatever. Make him 4th level, and give him pretty much any equipment from the players handbook. But no masterwork or magic. Email him to me & we'll continue to hammer him out.

Just checking in to say I haven't completely "disappeared into cyberspace," and officially relinquish my spot. I was considering creating a new character, but considering I still haven't really caught up with what's happening since Christmastime, and really cannot guarantee a year's worth of consistent posting any more, I think it's better not to be involved in a long-term, fast-paced game.

It was good gaming with everyone. I hope to run into you all again in the future (well, those I'm not already involved in other games with :) )

(BTW, Manzanita, if you've been trying to email me, I switched addresses a few weeks ago. Didn't occur to me at the time to update my ENW account, but recently it occurred to me that you do a lot of player communication by email... So yeah, sorry if I missed anything important.)
