Crossroads of Twilight

First Post
Anyone else gearing up for the release of the next WoT book?

Have you been a good WoT fan and read the Prologue and Chapter 1?

Any speculation on what's going to happen in this book?

Other than wishing it would end and RJ stops writing about the girls! Lets have a ending, then he could start a new set. :)

Heh :) I don't mind if it never ends so long as the books maintain a certain degree of quality (Winter's Heart good...Path of Daggers bad).

I hope that book 10 will finally give us some closure regarding the divided White Tower situation. Egwene and her faction have been screwing around for, what, four or five books now? Maybe then Egwene might actually SHARE INFORMATION AND TRY TO HELP RAND INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT HER OWN PETTY CONCERNS. I used to suspect Egwene might betray Rand. I wish she would, as it would give me justification for disliking her. :)

I was a huge, huge fan until ACoS, a book that resolved zero ongoing plotlines as far as I could tell, and introduced a whole bunch of new complications that need to be resolved before the story can end.

At that point it became clear to me that what Jordan is doing is simple padding, and I just about lost interest in the series.

I may read the thing once it's all out, if the series ends by 10 books. But it should have wrapped up in about six, and nothing's really happenned in subsequent books to justify 3000 additional pages and six or seven years of waiting for the story to conclude.

I lost interest in book 5. I wanted to like, I really did. I even read Eye of the World twice. I bought the role playing game cause I liked the world. I think everybody should get together for a nice brunch and each one tell each other there plans. There the book ended about 6 books ago.

OR

Perrin whines about losing his wife - Rand saves her, then kills them both
Egwen whines about the white tower- Rand kills her
Nynavee whines- Rand kills her
Everybody else whines about Rand killing everybody- Rand kills them all, world breaks thanks fo reading.

Ahh the perfect ending

I'm looking forward to it. I've stuck through nine books, I can stick through a few more (he says 13 is will be the end).

Things picked up (no spoilers given, though) at the end of the last book, and at the least that part should be interesting in book 10, as should Mat's thread of the story.

Don't much care about Perrin and Faile, however. ;)

Yes 500 pages of dialog, 300 of which was dealing with those whining girls, then another 100 pages of action, poof magic is clean for men. :)

Oh, I am hooked on the books but the last few hurt the whole, if I did not have a couple of book gift cards I think I would wait for paperback.

You know, that's a pretty significant spoiler just thrown out there without warning. Someone blurted that same thing out in front of me right after the book came out, and it made it far less enjoyable.

I'll stick it out to the end but I have not been as excited about it as I used to be. I have had the next book on preorder for 6 months now, lets hope he used all this extra time to make the new book better, I doubt it but one can hope. I actually liked the last book but it wasn't particularly good or anything it was just better that the two before it. George Martin is poised to take over with the best story going right now with his next book, he is really catching on fast and Jordan is slipping bad.
