Cruel Doubt - D&D = drug use

The generally mocking attitude towards Lifetime, has nothing to do with it being "Women's programing". It's that Lifetime's programing seems to ONLY show men as evil, violent, selfish, sex obsessed monsters and believe it or not most men don't appreciate being depicted only as monsters.

You'll notice that nobody is picking on Oxygen another "Women's Programing" channel.[/snip]

Or WE - Women's Entertainment. From the few times I've caught Oxygen it seemed a fine network for certain kind of woman (I'm not going to claim all women like that stuff). Lifetime I do have issues with. My mom watches it and I argue how men are always the villians. I challenge anyone to find a program on Lifetime or Lifetime movies that portrays a man as normal, loving husband (or friend) and not psycho, cheating, or insanely jealous. I'm sure there's one, but small beans compared to the other tripe.

ssampier: Not entirely true. Sometimes, the villain is an ex-husband or former boyfriend, and the husband gets to be supportive (albeit ultimately useless in the climax). The supportive emasculated man is the "good side" of the Lifetime Male Stereotype coin.

And, as someone who has complained about this, I should note: all guys here, think about how much this bugs you. Think about what a crock you think this is. Thing of how insulting it is to you. Then please, watch and see if that same garbage gets done to women on other networks.

I total agree. Women are deplicated as being mindless sex objects. Television dramas and sitcoms deplict women as being skilled manipulators. It's not fair and demeans women. Frankly, give me a lady with average looks and a higher intellect and I'm sold. :D

Way back when, I had my gaming group over and one guy went out to his car to smoke a joint. When he came in he claimed he was ready to GM and promised us a great time.

We didn't quite believe it. Shortly after he sat down I proclaimed myself his quasit familiar. I climbed up on the arm of the chair; I perched there, looming over him and picking through his hair like a monkey whispering, "Kill them...kill them all..." it was a chair in the living room, with wide, padded arms, so you know how someone my size was able to "perch".

He busted up laughing which those who met me at the gaming day can certainly understand why. At any rate, he gave up trying to Gm and we had a good session in someone else's world.
