Cryptic T-shirt at GenCon - Help, it's slowly driving me insane

Ok, myself and a couple of THG folks were walking back from the mall towards the convention center, and we passed a guy in a white t-:):):):). The ONLY thing on the front of the t-shirt was three pictures.

The first was a picture of Colonel Sanders (from KFC)

The second picture was a picture of a can of Campbells soup (a mock-up of a soup-like can, at least, minus the word Campbells), and the word "STEW" on the can.

The third picture was of Ernie, from Bert and Ernie fame.

Col. Sanders
A can of "STEW"
and Ernie

No "+" signs between each symbol which would have suggested some kind of rhebus.

Anyone have any idea what the hell this shirt means?

It drove us batty for the entire remainder of the con.

Well, a Colonel is like a General.
"Can" is pretty close to "Con"
And "Ernie" sounds like "ENnie"

So I would guess that this shirt is a thinnly vieled reference to the Gen-Con ENnies!

A google search on "shirt stew ernie Sanders" and various combinations thereof, revealed nothing other than there are some truly weird people on the internet.

I think it may be a veiled, juvenile reference to a certain muppet's sexual preference. (Ack, I'm going to get this thread closed here...)

A bucket of KFC has meat in it.

A can of stew has meat in it.

Ernie .... ?

Actually, it gave us an idea to market a whole line of shirts with seemingly unrelated symbols and then write the word "duh..." underneath it.

Something like:
A spoon
A Sedan DeVille
A French Poodle
-duh-

And of course, there would be absolutely no meaning to it outside of annoying the living crap out of people.

I'm confident that someone here will know what the shirt means.

We did think that it probably had something to do with a thinly veiled reference to Ernie and Bert being gay.

The "pork" thing could be some kind of verb.
