When you do the math there are only so many options that will come up. All those numbers have the same symbol.

Choose any number from 10-19, do the math you get 9. 20-29 you get 18, 30-39 you get 27, etc. All these numbers have the same symbol. So, it doesn't matter what number you pick, all the possible answers share the same symbol and that symbol comes up.

that's because every time 'try again' is clicked, the symbols are all changed (but you'll notice that whatever symbol it is, 9, 18, 27, etc. are all the same symbol)
