It's because of stuff like this that I personally recommendthat people get regular(quarter/bi-annual) psychological evaluations. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, so what's your excuse?

As someone who has done time in "serious" mental health wards I cannot forget the St. Paul's 2 North ward, which has a full team for treatment of anorexia. Ie: you an overboard anorexic in Vancouver you end up in 2 North.

These girls were SKELETONS. Friendly, smart, seeming happy. GHOULS.

They go there to relearn how to eat, attached to a full IV to make sure they don't pass out dead in the middle of the day.

You can count their ribs and see their jaw, stretching against the skin.

I remember this one time, one of my roommates was in a local production of Romeo & Juliet. Quite a few of the cast came back to our apartment to hang out and party one day, and 'Juliet' started talking about how she didn't have an eating disorder, cause she ate a lot. She just vomited it up afterward.

You forgot to add "without driving them as completely mental as you are."

Because I have most certainly not noticed any sort of relationship between sanity and ability to attract a mate.

I remember some years ago I was forced to watch a film about anorexics and bulemics in high school.

The ending scene was this pitiful girl who had just been released from a medical institution nibbling on a bagel like it was some sort of epic victory. Ugh. Just...ugh.

So did we. Our teacher popped in a movie, and it showed all these anorexics, but the hospital looked a bit old, until the teacher realized that someone switched it for a holocaust movie.
