Cured! - 7/20/04

Congratulations from me as well. You look great in general, much less for finishing up chemo! (I'd never even heard of cancer in the sinuses...) It sounds like despite your fears you dealt with it well (read Our Cancer Year for how a control freak workaholic deals with chemo really badly. ) and can get back to your life. If that life involves luring you and kira over for some XBox and gaming occasionally, all to the better. ;)

(though now I have this vague guilt about having the kitty box in the bathroom with a possibly immune supressed individual visiting... :uhoh: )

Thanks, all!

Altamont Ravenard: I'm naturally hairy, but not that hairy!

RangerWicket: Have you seeeeeen the size of those two storyhours?!?

myrdden: They actually did both the radiation and the chemo at the same time. Rough stuff, but on the bright side I've lost 35 pounds, which I needed. :D

Piratecat: Thanks. Having had hair before, I had no idea if I would look OK or I'd look like mister Potato Head, luckily it wasn't that bad (well, a little cold in winter).

orchid blossom: maybe next time will be at our place. I'm thinking we might try our hand at hosting sometime late fall/winter, and we'd love to have the Albany crew back to Boston (well, Malden, but same difference).

Kahuna Burger: Yes, what I had was very rare, mostly found in children, which just goes to show I'm young at heart (or immature, depending on who you ask).

Thanks again all, I appreciate the kind words.

Do you have any idea how much more frequently I would have updated my story hour if you had posted "I have cancer and this is all I'm living for?" Sheesh. You stink at plucking heartstrings. :p

Well done, I hear it isn't nice at all. When I actually learn that it stops the fast replicating cells I was shocked.

Got any pics? Or was it rude to ask?

Congrats, Qualidar! Having lost my mother last October to cancer I am pleased to hear that it isn't always the winner in such battles.

Not many people can pull off 'no eyebrows' but you did it with style. I mean it, when I saw you I said 'hey he's got his bald thing working for him'. I never would have thought you were sick.

I'm sure 'The Albany crew' will be more then willing to come up for another gameday. As long as the snow isn't bad I should be able to round up a few people.

There's a group pic from our Massachusetts game day here. I'm the bald one in the Hawaiian shirt (obviously). Be warned in advance that the rumors of me looking good with no hair may be a bit overstated. I think I look more like a serpent priest from my Freeport campaign.
