CURSE OF STRAHD Is Available Worldwide Today

Today's the day that Curse of Strahd, the latest official adventure for D&D 5th Edition, becomes available worldwide. Those with access to preferred stores got it easy on March 4th, but as of today, March 15th, you can pick it up from anywhere. Well, anywhere which sells this sort of thing. There's not a lot more to say on the subject - I've covered the run-up, publicity, and release of the adventure in pretty exhaustive detail - so just head down to your F (or not so F, if you're unlucky) L (or not so L) GS (Friendly Local Game Store) and grab your copy; then make sure you rate it here on EN World - it's currently trending at 83.5%. And for those who take part in the D&D Adventure's League, the new season has launched!

MY FLGS still does not have it. I think they need to amend the WORLDWIDE release day to PARTIAL WORLDWIDE release date. Ive asked and its due in next week.

Yeah What Emirikol said about is dead accurate. Only some items and Haunted one background which makes sense. No character going through this module should be a native.

I think just the new background Haunted One and some magic items but I could be wrong.

You could be ;-)

a 'few' magic items (e.g., Tome of Stradh, Sun Sword, Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, Icon of Ravenloft, Blood Spear, Gulthias Staff, St Markovia's Thighbone, to name a 'few'), a Monster Manual appendix, (Baba Yaga and her hut, Strahds Animated armor, Baba Lysaga, Barovian Witch, Izek Strazni, Srahd Zombies, Wereraven, to name a few) and a new background and a guide to the Tarokka deck.

And the return of awesome, big, colorful and exceptionally well done pull out poster maps. What else do you need to know to buy this?!?

I could be wrong but I think only Baba Lysaga and Baba Lysaga's crawling hut are included. I don't believe Baba Yaga or her dancing hut is included. Similar though they may be.

The adventures so far were:

HotDQ - Aug 2014
RoT - Oct 2014
PotA - April 2015
OotA - Sep 2015
(SCAG - Nov 2015)
CoS - March 2016

Looks like Spring and Autumn each year, but no specific months. HotDQ coincided with GenCon that year, of course.

They tend to announce books about 6 weeks in advance. So an Autumn/September book will likely be announced in June/July.

New hardcover adventures are timed to come out within the first couple of weeks of a new AL season. But while there are two seasons each year, the seasons are not each exactly six months long, which is why the hardcover release dates have shifted around. Now, the Curse of Strahd Players Guide listed the season ending on Aug 25, not in June like someone else posted. The next hardcover should hit WPN stores by the end of August, so yes, we are unlikely to hear anything about the new book before June.
