Do you even use that rule? Seems like you might, but it wasn't clear to me.
Yes, we do use the optional rules from Tasha's in this group. This one hasn't come up in play in this group, but they are in play from our Session 0.

Okay, then I would suggest writing it into the armor that a character can sleep in the armor without suffering penalties, but every night has terrible dreams about demons stabbing him or her in the butt with pitchforks.

Otherwise, the player is likely to just go straight for a remove curse and that's less interesting in my view than getting some cool armor for a while and potentially facing demons at extra peril down the road.

Or perhaps they dream of the evil prince's experiences, reveling in their evil deeds only to awaken (presumably) disturbed. There could even be a useful clue in those dreams, provided the wearer is willing to endure their nightly decent into the mind of a monster.
