I'm after someone to draw a custom portrait for my character. I'm willing to pay for it, but not a HUGE amount. Has anyone had this done? I've had one quote that was like $300 bucks, but that is way out of my league.

If anyone has had this done post here some details of who you got to do it!

Claudio Pozas is a professional artist who posts here as [MENTION=607]Klaus[/MENTION]. He's done custom work for diaglo and Morrus that I know of. Now that I've mentioned him, he should post here in a day or two.

I have no idea how much he charges, but you could send him a Private Message.

Just another reference for Klaus: he did some work for a friend of mine (that had nothing to do with RPGs) and he does great work and is incredibly responsive. If you check his website, you can get an idea of his art style (although the work he did for my friend was very different in tone). Heck of a nice guy to work with.

I'd give huge props to Klaus as well. I used the dwarf sorcerer pic on his site as inspiration for a new character of mine.

I had a chance for a piece to be done when I was in college. This was another college student. I think I paid him $25 to have it done. Pencil drawing, inked with some marker, IIRC (been a while!). As it turns out, the piece was kinda meh at best. Maybe I didn't explain what I wanted the best. Of course, his art style wasn't the best either. I still have the pic, but it was a bit of a disappointment.

Doesn't enworld host the new marketplace where people publishers can list requests which artist then offer bids? And by publishers, does that just mean anyone who wants artwork done?

I've been considering using the marketplace. Though Klaus' artwork is FANTASTIC (and thus likely too expensive).
