Custom classes?

Any news on whether this will make it into the game? It was easy in 3.0 and 3.5, but with the addition of the Paragon and Epic skill sets and abilities, I do not know how it could work. I just hope that I am underestimating the new ability system. I love playing unique, off builds. I don't want to lose my Scrapper.

What do you mean by "custom" classes? Creating a new archetype with creative multiclassing? Designing new base classes from scratch? Something else?

We know so little about classes and multiclassing at this point, that it's really hard to say, regardless of what your actual question is. ;)

WTF is your Scrapper? If you're talking about home-brewing classes, I don't see why it'd stop you. You'll be just as good or bad at balancing and designing it as you were before.

Sounds like you should create a set of "unarmed combat" powers that can be taken by either the rogue or fighter to fill that gap. It appears you just want the bar-brawler/pugilist/wrestler rather than the mystical monk, so a martial-source set of powers for one (or both) classes should fill your need.

I know in other games with talent trees a lot of new classes simply include many of the already existing options and then just add in a few new cool powers for that class at the top. They're called capstone powers. I guess you could do that for your new Scrapper class by taking only the powers from fighters, rogues, and monks you like. But everybody's kind of waiting on the rules.
