Cut To The Chase

BSF, I completely missed the Run feat. Crap.

Well, I'll update it, but it will probably not get another release. We'll see. Maybe I can offer a new & improved table as a single sheet?

Thanks for that! And I'll definitely cover those spells in the Foot Chases product. Unless, of course, I forget to and you post a note after it gets released saying, "BC, you said you'd cover those spells. You suck." Cause that might happen.

Nah, I would never say "You suck." If I am going to insult you, I would try to be somewhat more creative than that. :D

My favorite chase scene was my female ranger / cleric whom snapped-

This is what lead up to it-

She and her friends are drugged and stripped by Troglodytes and their human evil cleric master. I role played her as being VERY self conscious of everything and timid. Being stripped and handled did not go well with her.

The party breaks free. We are weaponless and surrounded by stinky Trogs. I snap. A called shot to the weapon and she has a club and begins to beat the snot out of the trogs barehanded. Then the evil leader shows up. He tries something but it fails and runs for it.
She has but one spell left and can use- Expeditious charge (err. retreat). He has had several rounds head start on her but is wearing medium armor. Still wearing only enough clothes for modesty's sake and weilding a simple stone trog club with their blood on it- she charges after him.

After a few mis tries to take him down he reaches the backdoor of his sanctuary. He calls for people to open the door. Several voices call back.

The GM asks what I plan to do fully expecting me to stop.

"I takle him and use his head to close the door."

silence

I roll and .....ta-dahhhh 19.

I tackle him, slam his head into the door (breaking his serpent mask) and slam the door shut blocking off the worshippers with their doggies inside. I then proceed to kick him untiol he gets up to deal with me.

Fortunately- the party arrived now.

You could do an updated chart in your next supplement? Or as a web enhancement?

Had an interesting overland chase in my Eberron game on Sunday. The setting was the Mournland, which is the blasted remnants of a once-fertile land, destroyed by a magical explosion of indeterminate nature.

The fleeing - the PCs, all sitting on a large cart being dragged by the big warforged fighter, balancing amid sacks of provisions, a couple of large greatswords and breastplates, two locked boxes of magical treasure, and carrying a cat who at least one of them thinks is a demon in disguise.

The pursuers - a warforged titan, which is a 20 ft. tall construct (essentially a giant robot) with a huge mallet and a giant axe-blade for hands, being ridden by a pair of normal-sized warforged (an artificer and a wizard).

Running up hill and down dale, dodging around rocks, trying things to throw the enemy of one's trail, exchanging fireballs with the flying warforged wizard, travelling in pitch-blackness (with no darkvision in the party) with people using long poles as if blind and bouncing off rocks and trees, hoisting the halfling scout like a lookout on a makeshift crow's nest, etc. Boy, was it entertaining!

Until they zigged when they should have zagged and met the warforged titan going the other way and got pummelled into submission, with most of the party being captured, leaving two to try a rescue for next session. Hoo boy!

shil: giant robots are like dinosaurs; you can never have too many

There was nothing giant or robotic on that site. I am very dissapointed.

I had to go here: http://www.gigantor.org/ to rectify the situation. You will notice my giant robot link has a) robots b) that are giant.

You may now resume your on-topic thread about chases.

(I was all set to try HP this weekend but my players caught the plague. Someone please stop my players from covorting with medieval rodents)

Just bought the updated version (was holding back as I only want to print off one copy).

Is there any chance the ZIP file can be updated with a more printer friendly version of the document (minus all those red borders???)

Alternatively, does anyone have recommended printer settings for Acrobat to reduce the margins? I dont see any layers available with the margins that could be switched off...

Thanks,

Damien
