Cut To The Chase

But it's giantrobot.com! It's so COOL! They interviewed Maggie Cheung once!

Sigh. Maggie.

*sits daydreaming for a second, suddenly looks around*

What? What?

Oh, chases. Yeah.

Mm. Maggie.

*smacks Corey with a rolled-up newspaper* Down, boy!

shil: giant robots are like dinosaurs; you can never have too many

Amen, brother! Next time I'm making it a giant warforged T-Rex. Somebody has to do it!

Who was it that was talking about having a warforged dragon disciple? I think with Eberron you can actually make Grimlock. A warforged druid who turns into a dinosaur, and is also a changeling, so there's more than meets the eye.

A company I used to work at created a product they decided to call "Transformer".

I hummed in every product meeting.

Dum da dum da dum....

Heh, that's funny Barsoomcore. Hey, I had fun just a few days ago when our largest client decided that the abbreviation of their new software product's keywords spelled out a new product name, "Tim".

Pierce (from these boards) and I had much fun doing Monty Python lines that *nobody* else got.

I bought Hot Pursuit and gave it a read. Looked good. So I've only used the basic mechanic so far in my game (closing and opening distance) and it's already made for one great chase scene. One of the PCs (with 2 hp left no less) and an NPC on horseback chasing after a fleeing orc mounted on a Winter Wolf. They chased it across snow-covered rolling plains dotted with scrub.

Like I said, I only used the basic mechanic and it was still the best chase I've ever run in 20+ years of GMing.

It. Rocks.

Thanks, JA! I'm glad to hear you had fun. I'm working on the foot chases supplement right now, and turning over other possibilities in my head.

led: Hee. "Some.... call me... ... ... Tim...."

Best chase I've been involved in was one Morrus ran for us:

Our party on the back of a seriously oversized tiger. In a forest full of evil animated trees. And really big webspinning spiders. Being chased by wyvern riding archers above the treetops.

We had our archer and mage trying to distract the wyvern riders. The tiger trying to steer round the webs. The figther and cleric trying to fend off the evil trees.

The highlights were:

When our paladin found one of the spiders. Smote it. Then found out they were full of acid. Ow!

And eventually misleading the wyvern riders with a pebble, light spell and a small summoned flying thing. :)

Was a really fun evening.
