Cut To The Chase

Just bumping to announce that Hot Pursuit: On Foot is now available for your downloading pleasure.

I must admit that I did NOT address assorted magical effects as I promised I would -- I felt too strongly that such things would sort of, I don't know, infect the work with setting-related gunk that I wanted so much to keep out of it all. So there's no mention of magic in the book.

It's small, and doesn't have much art in it, but I think it's packed with Hot Pursuit-y goodness and definitely makes foot chases loads of fun.

As always, please let me know what your impressions are and if you have any questions. I am always craving the feedback. And scope the Acknowledgements, those of you who asked for the Foot Chases. Word to the peeps.

(And don't overlook our example PCs. Hee.)

What? Are you saying you didn't include commentary on spells like Longstrider? :)

Good point about making the book too setting-specific. I do hope you at least got the Run feat in though. What other kinds of goodness can we expect out of On Foot?

Crap! Burned me twice in a row.

You know, I got so excited after watching Ong Bak and wanting to create a ruleset that would provide for that kind of action I totally forgot that.

Um, you can expect OTHER kinds of goodness. :D

The rules go through the original Hot Pursuit rules and outline the changes required for foot chases -- Spot penalties for Range, stability penalties for surface, along with rules for tiring. There's a review of the existing maneuvers -- any changes for characters on foot (different skills -- you can use, for example, Climb, Balance, Jump and Tumble for Close/Lengthen) and a couple of new maneuvers: "They're After Me" (to get a crowd riled up against your pursuers) and "Just What I Needed" (to find useful items as you hurtle along). There's new rules for Obstacles, too, and a whole new suite of new locales and sample obstacles. And expanded rules for melee combat -- what happens if you attempt a Trip attack while in the midst of a chase?

Now you know.

Or you will, after you've bought it. :D

Yer darn tooting.

:D

Yes, it does. Otherwise, I'm charging the people who bought the first one twice for the same rules. And I LOVE the people who bought the first one. They're my favourite people.

Make it easy for your players to do cool stuff. Because
doing cool stuff is fun.

You see, it's phrases like this that made me buy Hot Pursuit the first time. I'm glad I got the expansion set ;)

By the way, I'm using this for my session tomorrow.....There's a Bugbear Ranger that's been bugging the PCs for 4-5 sessions. They really hate the guy :D

Edit Post:

By the way, now you got sigged ;)
