BAB: +5
Perform (dance) 3, tumble 3
Combat Expertise, Dodge, Mobility, Weapon focus (any slashing)

Not a bad class if you're dual wielding scimitars.

Is there any alignment restriction?

As far as I call tell, having built but not played a ftr 4/rog 2/dervish 3, this is a versatile & powerful melee combatant when wielding a pair of scimitars. I'd be interested to see how one works over the course of a campaign.

I've built but have yet to play:
Swashbuckler 3 / Fighter 2 / Dervish 10 (perhaps Barbarian 2 in there?)
Feats: Finesse (from Swash), Wp Focus, Dodge, Mobility, Expertise, Two Weapons (and Improved and Greater), Spring Attack (from Dervish), and Improved Crit.
Assuming you can get a 16 dex and int to start (and spend points on dex later)

At Level 16:
+27/+27/+22/+22/+17/+17/+12 1d6+8 15-20/x2 while moving 45 feet (more if you take the +10 speed feat from FRPG, or the Quick trait from UA, or Barbarian). And it lasts 9 rounds (assuming you're smart enough to keep Perform: Dance maxed, another reason for the high int).

And once per day:
+27/+27/+27/+27/+22/+22/+22/+22/+17/+17/+17/+17/+12/+12 for one round. It's worth doing just for the ability to take fourteen!!! attacks in a round.
And all those numbers are before adding bonuses from magic (or even masterwork) weapons, gloves of dex, headband of int, or any other magic item, and the damage assumes a 10 strength.

what weapon are you using? If the Finesse feat is the normal Weap Finesse feat, it doesn't apply to the scimitar -- just the rapier (which is not a slashing weapon). For the Dervish, the Weap Focus must be w/ slashing weap, and the extra +1 bonus is for slashing weaps only.
IIRC, the Swashbuckler uses the rapier (or piercing weaps?)...
I was frustrated by this, because I was going to make a similar PC :\
if I'm wrong, please correct me, because it seems the Swashbuckler and Dervish would be a cool combo...

ps -- I ended up substituting Rogue for Swashbuckler. And yes, I was going to include some Barbarian for the extra speed/hp's ;)

Weapon Finesse works with any light weapon, plus certain other weapons (like the rapier).

Well, with a Dervish scimitars are considered Light weapons.

So there you go.

works for me! thanks ;)

Edit: well, actually this is technically true but still doesn't work very well for the character. Since the character is a Swashbuckler first, he can't use Weapon Finesse with the scimitar (until he starts the Dervish PrC). So he'll start out using the rapier, and at least initially will build his feats around that. For two-weapon fighting, he'll probably be using a short sword for his off-hand.
If he doesn't choose Weap Focus until 6th level (Swash3/Fight2/Dervish1), I suppose you could say the character decides to drop the weapon he's used in his career so far (the rapier) and choose Weap Focus (Scimitar) instead... If he's invested money in a magical rapier (and possible short sword for off-hand TWF), that wouldn't make much sense :\
So I guess this could work, with a complicated backstory...
