[D&D 3.5] Paths of Legend: Paths of Madness (OOC)

'k, I've also thought of a couple of ideas. Hopefully one will be ok. If not, I'm sure I can come up with something a little less odd.

The Homunculus Who Lived
The Master was taken and they laughed at the creature scrabbling in the cage to get out and follow. But he did eventually work his way out of the cage and then the search began. He followed down into the earth where the Master was being held and tortured. When he found the Master he was overjoyed. Master was seriously wounded, though, and the homunculus perched on his shoulder when the last breath rattled from the Master's torn body. When they came to take the Master again he fought. Again they shoved him into a cage, and even though Master was dead he still lived.

Ogre Slave
Ogre didn't mind being a slave because he was happy as long as he had his pet monkey. Then one of the slave-drivers played a particularly cruel joke on the ogre that resulted in the monkey's death. Ogre became enraged and beat the man to death with a chain. Now Ogre sits waiting for death in a deep cell, but he hardly notices as he coos an awful song to the stinky, mummified monkey corpse he cradles in one huge hand.

Mad Gnome Redux
Dragged from the forest, companion slain, tortured and locked away from the sun, the gnome is slowly going mad until the mad whispers of one of his brethren give him the hope of daylight again. [Gnome Woodling Druid, unless you think the LA would be too crippling]

Voda Vosa, expect a PM from me, shortly. :D

Ambrus, both of those ideas are really nifty. Let me know which of them you want to go with and I'll get the progression revision worked up.

GlassEye, also some nifty ideas. :D I especially like the ogre. ;) I'm not sure what a woodling is, though. What book is that in?

At first i really wanted to try a Thief 4/ Thief-Acrobat 2, but we already have a thief to help us with the locks :) And plus, there are so many cool ideas coming from the other players! I actually took the SS and some other books to work and i will read up now :D I am torn between a savage minotaur or a vampire (still deciding on the base race). Monkey what do you think, will a Vampire be too limited with it's vulnerabilities? I will read up some more before posting actually completed ideas. Oh and if i take regular minotaur, at what level will i start? Will it be a level 6 Minotaur (already mature with a Large size) or a level 4 due to the +2 level adjustment? Will the savage template add to the level adjustment as well (it's +1 in the book).

I think I'm gravitating more towards the shadow, but my choice would depend largely on the final makeup of the party. The shadow is a much darker (heh heh) character who'd likely fit in better with a mostly evil party without a good cleric. Have the final player/character choices been settled yet? Seems like there are no lack of volunteers to choose from. Which character do you think would fit in best in the campaign?

Also, would an elemental be forced to continue advancing and growing through the entire monster class progression or could I choose to remain a small or medium elemental rather than continuing on into large-size?

wow heh... I played up my chara history to wake up in the cell around people he doesn't know... with the concepts you guys are tossing out there my rogue is in for a VERY rude awakening LOL

on a side note.... heh... I rather think mindflayer tastes like Mac & Cheese actually... with a hint of spice sage.... *chuckles*

All, don't worry about "making a party" as part of the challenge is going to be that this group really isn't a group at the beginning and will need to find ways to work together.

Myth and Legend, all characters start at ECL 6, so you'll be at the 6th level of the minotaur progression (I have a revised version, which I will send to you if you decide on the minotaur). The LA of any templates will also factor in to your ECL. A vampire would be interesting (I have a progression for that also), but you'll need to have at least one "regular" character level (1st) in order to have at least one HD (vampire, as a template, doesn't provide any hit dice).

Ambrus, my revision of the elemental progressions includes "Transition Points" where the character can multi-class after reaching the equivalent of the Monster Manual Small, Medium and Large categories.

It'd still be nice to see a final tally of players and their chosen characters. How many are you aiming to have in the game?
