[D&D 3.5] Paths of Legend: Paths of Madness (OOC)

Myth - I've seen various takes on it, but usually low int/high wisdom characters are portrayed as slow but more insightful than most people give them credit for.

Monkey/Vertexx - Did the lvl adjustments get changed on one of those templates in the monkey-revission? Seems like vert should have another lvl, as feral and insectile are both normally +1 LA.

Also, I just have to say this - "FIFTEEN BELLS! who's The most hated? ME, YEAH, Yeah I'm the most.. uh.. oh wait, that's bad.. uhoh."

huh.. must be all that crack I've been doing recently messing with my mind. ;)

ER.. I mean I knew that. *L*

Anyways, on a more serious note:

[sblock=crazy monkey]
Allright, forgive me in advance for being all rulesy on you, I just want to figure something out:
I'm not seeing anything in the Arcane lock spell that would give the bars/lock any special resistance to my chosen attack form.
Is there any reason Evan can't just zap his way out of here? A 2-inch thick steel door has hardness 10 and 30 HP. with a 3d6 @will ray,(avg 11 dmg), Evan could blow his way through a 2-inch thick steel door in 3 minutes. Why then would thinner steel bars be a challenge? (not to mention the fact that he can both empower And maximize his ray 3 times per day, meaning 27 dmg/round which would blow a door in 2 rounds.. 12 seconds.)

I'm just wondering if there's an in character reason why he hasn't just blown his way out? A ward he's noticed, etc... or if you were just hoping I'd be a team player and wait for the others to help come up with a plan? I've been envisioning him as a rather cocky SOB, so if he got it into his head that he wanted out, he'd probably just try to blast his way out - for good or bad.

This is a prison run by wizards...

;)

While they're cheapskates when it comes to enchanting the prison doors and bars and such, the guards are alerted via an alarm effect whenever magic is used in a cell...and they come along and subdue the offender in very short order...usually.

Which would explain the dozens of beatings Evan's had since he arrived, he just can't avoid using his powers. Hmm.. if we want to get a guard in here, I guess Evan could just start zapping stuff. :D

Jemal, remember too that objects take half damage from most energy types. In fact, there's even an invocation called "Hammer Blast" or something, that specifically overcomes that limitation....which implies that standard Eldritch Blasts do 1/2 damage to objects too.

the phb doesn't say anything about energy in general. It specifies the five elements: acid and sonic deal normal damage, fire and electricity deal half and cold deals one quarter, but nothing about other energy types.

These weren't the only energy types available even back in the phb, so why wouldn't they have said anything about other types if they were supposed to be treated differently? No mention of force, negative energy, or un-named damage.

Where's hammer blast from?

In the end I guess it's not really a big deal anyways.. I don't play warlocks without baleful utterance. :D
