Hey everybody, I don't have too long so I'll make it brief. My grandmother's been sick for over a week, and just passed away on Saturday.. The funeral's Wednesday and i don't know when I'll be back to posting.. maybe by the weekend, but maybe not.

I just thought I should tell you all where I've been recently, why I haven't been posting, and that It may be a few days, or it may be a week, before I'm back. I didn't want to leave any of you hanging too badly.

c u soon, and thnx for understanding..

Tails, instead of just formatting the text to match the background (which changes) try using the {spoiler} tag. It makes text most of us shouldn't read easier to not read. :)

Dispel Magic is by the r.a.w. completely ineffective against petrification attacks.

Contingency can't be cast on other people.

Does the courier believe he's telling the truth? (Sense Motive +10)

Would Vannyn know if someone from the shipping company had developed a version of Contingency castable on other people?

Would Vannyn know that it's s.o.p. for couriers from the shipping company to routinely recieve Contingent Dispel Magic and/or Contingent Break Enchantment spells?

Is he the regular courier? (have we ever seen him before?)

Sorry. I needed a plot device and didn't think it though completely.

He is indeed your normal courier. You remember reading somewhere that the company was using an experimental contingency for their couriers. When you had checked into it you found some disturbing news. It is very problematic. It only has a small percentage of working properly. It has a greater chance of out making matters worse (a fact the company failed to reveal to its couriers). The company seemed to be more interested in making money then the safety of their couriers.

Also most couriers carry a number of scrolls for "stray dogs" so to speak.

You use sense motive on the fellow. You sense that he is indeed upset that he has to pay an large sum of gold to replace the scrolls and "special" contingency spell.
