D&D 4th Edition, H Series, Online Game

I think I'll need to know game time/day before I commit. I have 2 kids, but 1 of them I only get to see every other weekend, so I really don't want to commit to spending a significant portion of my Saturdays with my daughter playing DND online instead.

That said, it looks like the only days that will work are weekends. This game sounds really good and I want to be a part of it, but I think because of my situation, it makes sense that I bow out.

Oh well, one of these days I'll find an online game!

Thanks,

Well Taren, As I told Eryiedes I am partial to Friday evenings myself, though I am not sure how that will run up against you needing to be with your kids. I advise not bowing out until we actually have a better idea of what day we are going to end up doing the game on.

END COMMUNICATION

Yeah, I won't completely abandon the hope I can play in this game until the time/day are set. Infortunately, because of the situation with my daughter, I have to pick her up and drop her off on Friday and Sundays (it's 1 hour there and back). So, I would be unable to play from 7-9pm eastern every other Friday and 8:30-10:30pm eastern every other Sunday.

Weekends are problematic - to say the least.

I am sorry to hear that Taren but if you change your mind we will still be here (and we may still use your character as an npc in no other player joins!)
I really like glittercom....its instant mapping possibilities are really nice....if I can get my 'puter to work that is....I will elaborate.
Certain software with directx functions just shuts my machine right down.....not reboot but like the power supply cut out....that kinda dead.
Not because its extreme for my machine but because the fans have died long ago and the resultant heat has slowly cooked my mother board...causing the afore mentioned anomaly.
Glitter (unfortunately) is apparently one of those programs.
When I have a new machine in 2 weeks (and if we can find alternate dice macros) it would be the best....but I get 1 minute into farting around with it and then BOOM...my 'puter shuts down....just like in dimdim earlier.
Its too bad, because it seems awesome, (when I can keep my machine from shutting off that is) but for 2 weeks glittercom is out for me if it does that everytime I use it for more than a few minutes.

I will linger for a while...

Peace & Light (and heat syncs)

So Taren wants saturday....maybe that can happen.
We'll see what the others say.
I would rather have the game bend to the players than the players bend to the game if you follow my meaning.

I don't want weekends Eryiedes. Weekends are when I spend time with my daughter or drive to pick her up or drop her off. Not to mention spending time with my wife, going out to dinner, or a friends place, etc.

But, due to the time zone issues, it seems like weekends are the only days that would work (the guy from the UK would have a hell of a time otherwise).

Just trying to clear this up,

Taren Nighteyes

So you would rather a week day.
I personally have no problem with that.....(which one(s) are best)
Let's see what the others have to say.
I have been looking for pbp dice rollers and its sad but there really isn't as much as you would think.
We will be discussing more tommorrow 9ish again in dimdim...you can definitely get more done...(as long as only one person talks at a time!)
There will be a link to there in this thread...but you need to join dimdim to use the demo.
GC is lookin' better an better.

what's wrong with the die roller on glittercomm? I dont care I'm just wondering. it seems that each player can set up the simple macros to work best for their character and the DM for his most common rolls.

I had mine running and four or five common rolls set up in about a minute flat.
And since it displays the results in the chat box, its a global roller. What is it missing that you guys are looking for?
what am I not catching on to?

Go to sleep, wake up, read 30 new posts.

Would it fit to take the 9pm thing down by 2 or 3 hours? 6pm or 7pm, which would be a manageable 11pm or 12am for me. But depending on how long the game goes on for... Although, I suppose I could swim to the east coast and break into a house to play once a week.

I like the look of this glittercomm program.

I really like this glittercomm program. My player Orc just killed my GMs snake! Perhaps not the... fairest of fights. Looks like it could get easily cluttered though.

I can make any weekday (Monday through Thursday) work - and I can start anytime from 7pm eastern forward (I am in the central time zone and I don't get home from work until 6:45 eastern)

Let's decide the time we play so I can figure out if I have to bow out!

Thanks guys,

Taren Nighteyes
